What I am examining

I keep this for the habit of holding a product idea as a hypothesis, and of letting someone's behaviour answer it.

A small test can measure curiosity and be mistaken for demand.

I have written about this question in Building to Learn and Why I Build So Many Things. Those notes are mine. They are not a review of the book.

My note

What I keep is the line that an idea is a hypothesis and the build is not the test. I use it to write down what I expect someone to do, then to look at what they actually do. I do not accept praise, a visit, or my own excitement as demand, and I have not published numbers that would let a reader score the projects on this site.

Bibliographic note

Eric Ries. The full title is The Lean Startup: How Today's Entrepreneurs Use Continuous Innovation to Create Radically Successful Businesses. Crown Business, first edition, 2011, ISBN 9780307887894. The copy I read is not recorded. The jacket and the Amazon link are that hardcover.
